Merge (spoken as a whisper)

How can a photograph not only express, but create senses of place and self? I often seek to create a magical dreamscape, an air of fantasy, or a visual expression of an internal world. My work rests in the tension between the physicality of analog photographs, the verisimilitude of a photograph, and fantastical imagery. I seek to use the lens in ways that disrupt hierarchical and patriarchal visual languages. Queer love and expression are often the basis for my work, I use them as a foundation to build upon as they are foundational to my emotional and political worlds. I create fantasy scenes that express queerness and human creativity as parts of nature. I have been seeking to chip away at the boundary between the natural and the human.
