Ongoing ongoing we have to be ongoing

Through picturemaking I seek to cultivate, to conjure– not to document or describe. I purse my lips, blowing away the obfuscating haze of patriarchal knowledge making to show something hidden from us but gravely important: that nature is queer. I am worldbuilding– I picture a realm where patriarchy and all its connected evils (domination and extraction) have never existed. Through all stages of this work, from performing for the camera with my partner, to collecting sensations of water and light in pictures, to the repetitive ritual of printing alone in the wet dark, I am seeking, yearning, praying to see this realm.
